Freddie Mac reported that the Single-Household severe delinquency charge in December was 0.66%, unchanged from 0.66% November. Freddie’s charge is down year-over-year from 1.12% in December 2021.
Freddie’s severe delinquency charge peaked in February 2010 at 4.20% following the housing bubble and peaked at 3.17% in August 2020 throughout the pandemic.
These are mortgage loans which might be “three month-to-month funds or extra overdue or in foreclosures”.

Mortgages in forbearance are being counted as delinquent on this month-to-month report however should not reported to the credit score bureaus.
The intense delinquency charge was at 0.60% simply previous to the pandemic; that is virtually again to that stage.
Word that multi-family delinquencies have been rising and had been at 0.12% in December, up from 0.08% in December 2021.
